Daylight saving times is great. In 2007, Congress added four more weeks of daylight saving times. (Three weeks in the spring, one week in fall.) When DST starts, robbery rates fell 7 percent for the whole day (27 percent during the extra hour of sunlight in the evening). This phenomenon can be explained by street crime trends. Street crime occurs most frequently during commute hours from 5 to 8 pm; criminals do not do much activity in the extra one hour of darkness in the morning.
It is estimated that the cost criminals cause is $42,000 for each crime. The cost includes direct economic losses suffered by the victim, medical costs and lost earnings due to injury, increased police protection, legal services and incarceration costs, indirect psychological and secondary injury. In the Spring of 2007, the three week DST decreased costs by an estimated $246 million according to Doleac and Sanders, which includes the cost of a rape ($240,000). Doleac and Sanders has suggested that by implementing an all-year daylight saving time, United States could save 20 times as much in savings.
Additionally, changing the clock could see a reduction in traffic accidents and spending more time outside, promoting a healthy environment for exercise.

Which name sticks, “Stonehenge II” or “Superhenge”?
Researchers have determined that there were once about 90 stones similar to the ones at Stonehenge 3km away from Stonehenge.
The new stones stand 15 feet high and are thought to be knocked over after the end of the pre ‘Stonehenge main phase’ religion.

If all undocumented workers left:
-
Supply of workers will shrink. They account for 5.1 percent of the nation’s labor force 2012. Currently, there are 8.3 million people unemployed. Since much of it is frictional unemployment, there are not enough people to fill the void.
-
The service and farming industry would take a hit. There is a disproportionate amount of undocumented immigrants in the field when compared to native workers.
-
Some native born workers may see a drop in wage. Some native born workers will have to fill in for cheaper labor instead of the administrative jobs.
-
Social Security Fund loses 13 billion dollars in payroll taxes (if calculated at 2010 level). Their benefits are 1 billion so that nets negative 12 billion dollars.

Caffe con Butter?
He has lost 100 lb, IQ raised by 20 points, and lowered his biological age.
Dave Asprey of the Bulletproof diet has opened his first shop, Bulletproof Coffee, in Santa Monica along with an announcement that Bulletproof has raised $9 million from Trinity Ventures. What makes this coffee shop so special is his secret ingredient for his coffee, butter.
Asprey is a biohacker who has been building a following among the Silicon Valley crowd. He has lost 100 lb, IQ raised by 20 points, and lowered his biological age. He claims he was inspired by the yak butter infused tea he tried in Tibet.
Quote “I felt amazing,” he recounts. “Normally, you feel like you’re dying at [18,000 feet] elevation. It’s really uncomfortable. I asked myself, ‘Why am I feeling so amazing?’ I want to feel like this all the time.”
Asprey also has plans to sell something called FatWater, which contains water and fats from coconut oil.

In his latest memoir, The Courage to Act: A Memoir of a Crisis and Its Aftermath, former Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke claims that the lack of cooperation from congress exacerbated the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy problem. The Fed was legally bound from saving the Lehman Brothers. This was not the only thing that Mr. Bernanke thought disapprovingly of congress. He thought that politicians had behaved in a politically motivated fashion, largely noting the Government shutdown of 2013. He believes congressmen are responsible for doing their part – solving the problem through fiscal policy.
He has also revealed in his book that he had made a mistake by seeming uncertain about the Fed’s ability to save the Lehman Brothers. Mr. Bernanke and the Fed had already realized that it was impossible for the US to save the Lehman Brothers. At the time, Mr. Bernanke was worried that the confidence of the investor would be affected very negatively if the Fed revealed the inability to save Lehman Brothers or any other banks that must be saved in the future. However, his reservation to notify the public had created an illusion that the Fed let Lehman Brothers fail.
Lehman Brothers creditors had suffered about $200 billion of losses.
